MEP Planner – Major Infrastructure Scheme (Gatwick Airport)

This £250M programme, located at Gatwick Airport, will run until 2030 and focuses on delivering long-term energy efficiency through the construction and integration of an Energy Centre, air source and ground source heat pumps, and a comprehensive district heating network that spans both landside and airside developments.
The Role
We are looking to speak with experienced MEP Planners with strong exposure to major building services packages within airport or high-complexity infrastructure environments. You will be embedded full-time on site, taking full planning responsibility for mechanical and electrical phases of the works using Oracle Primavera P6.
You will coordinate planning schedules across energy generation and distribution elements, including the heat network infrastructure, and ensure alignment with overall programme goals through to 2030. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in complex, multi-phase environments where long-term coordination is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage the detailed MEP project schedules using Primavera P6
*
Collaborate with delivery teams to coordinate planning efforts for heat networks, energy centre construction, and MEP services installation
*
Analyse and integrate subcontractor programmes into the master schedule
*
Attend site meetings and interface with project managers, engineers, and client-side stakeholders
*
Identify risks, potential delays, and mitigation strategies to keep the project on track
*
Provide regular reporting, progress updates, and lookaheads to the leadership team
*
Ensure programme logic and dependencies are clearly understood and communicated across teams
*
Monitor resource and cost loading where required
Experience & Background
*
Proven experience as a Planner within the building services or infrastructure sector
*
Prior involvement in airport, energy centre, or district heating projects highly desirable
*
Competent in Primavera P6 (essential)
*
Strong understanding of MEP systems, installation processes, and sequencing
*
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a high-security, operationally sensitive environment
*
Ability to work full-time on site within a commutable distance of Gatwick
