Assistant Facilities Manager (For the Domestic/Cleaning Department)
The Role:
Operating across the Isle of Wight, the Assistant Facilities Manager supports the management of cleanliness, fleet, and other facilities-related operational functions within the Estates & Facilities department.

Duration of booking: Expected to last 3 months with possible extension

Pay Rates: Up to £18 per hour Umbrella or £16 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
Based: Office / Hospital
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in managing the operational delivery of high-quality, cost-effective Facilities services across sites within Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
2. Support the management of in-house operational staff to ensure performance targets are met, including adherence to Health and Care Quality standards, with a focus on continuous improvement.
3. Assist with audits and monitor Facilities services across IOW buildings to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, specifications, and method statements.
4. Maintain audit and monitoring procedures to ensure service quality and compliance.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, premises managers, and clinical leads to facilitate effective communication on facilities issues.
6. Support the production of reports, make recommendations to management, and collaborate with clinical and premises managers to uphold facilities standards.
7. Assist in implementing national and local initiatives related to Facilities Services and contribute to data collation for Trust returns.
8. Ensure delivery and continuous development of high-quality facilities services, fostering innovation in service delivery.
9. Provide line management for housekeeping staff, overseeing front-of-house functions and ensuring excellent patient contact points.
10. Coordinate daily facilities functions, incident monitoring and reporting, risk management, and management of consumables, including quality audits and strategy development.
11. Contribute to establishing, developing, and delivering strategies to improve facility asset utilization in line with national cleaning standards.
12. Perform additional duties within the grading of the post as required to meet service needs, with prior agreement.
