Job Description
The Environmental, Health, & Safety manager will be responsible for the following:
1. Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the manufacturing environment
2. Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
3. Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hires, on topics such as machine operation, chemical safety, and emergency procedures.
4. Perform regular safety inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility to identify safety deficiencies and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
5. Investigate accidents, near misses, and other safety incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training sessions, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
7. Collaborate with management, safety committees, and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
8. Stay current with relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the manufacturing industry and ensure compliance.
9. Manage the safety budget and recommend investments in safety equipment, training, and resources as needed.
10. Coordinate with external agencies, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with safety requirements and standards.
11. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
12. Lead investigations into safety-related complaints or concerns raised by employees and implement appropriate solutions.
13. Provide guidance and support to supervisors and employees on safety-related matters and best practices.
14. Participate in safety-related meetings, committees, and conferences to stay informed about emerging trends and best practices.
15. Prepare and present safety reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.
16. May be involved in design reviews, major equipment specifications and purchases, environmental remediation projects, and pollution control systems as well as overseeing their installation.

The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
17. Bachelor of Science in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field
18. Masters Degree preferred but not required
19. OSHA Certification
20. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred
21. 5+ years experience within a Manufacturing setting
22. Experience implementing a new safety culture and being a change agent within a plant
23. Strong communication skills

24. Base salary of $100,000-$130,000 depending on experience
