Overview
Applications Manager / Senior Applications Engineer – Location: Chicago, IL; Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000; Employment Type: Full-Time. Industry: CNC Machine Tools. Applications Manager / Senior Applications Engineer required to join a global manufacturer of machine tools.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the applications team, managing projects, schedules, and resources to ensure technical initiatives are completed on time.
* Develop and write machine programs and optimize manufacturing processes, including tooling, fixturing, and workflow, to improve efficiency and product quality.
* Provide hands-on technical support and programming expertise to clients and partners, solving complex production challenges.
* Design and deliver training sessions that teach programming techniques, advanced manufacturing practices, and product knowledge to internal teams and customers.
* Collaborate with sales teams to evaluate customer needs, develop customized machine programs and turnkey solutions, and support business growth.
Qualifications
* Prior experience with both G code and M code.
* Proficient using CAD/CAM software, ideally SolidWorks, Autodesk or AutoCAD (CAD) and Siemens NX or Mastercam (CAM).
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is advantageous.
* Extensive experience working in the machine tool industry.
* Prior experience using Siemens controls.
