This is a role for someone who thrives in building commercial relationships, not chasing quick sales. You’ll lead marketing strategy and business development activity for a niche communications agency with deep roots in the maritime, leisure marine, and renewable energy sectors.


Clients range from global shipping companies to innovative green tech businesses and superyacht specialists. They offer brand, PR, digital, and media services across complex, international markets.


You are someone who understands those markets and is curious and driven enough to learn even more.


You’ll know the questions to ask. This role is about opening the right conversations, supporting clients through early engagement, and working with senior directors on bringing them to close.


With management of a Marketing Executive, you’ll lead both online content strategy, campaign alignment, and offline business development processes.


Key Responsibilities:


* Lead and deliver on the company’s business development and marketing strategy across three sectors: maritime, renewable energy, and leisure marine.
* Manage the full new business lifecycle: prospecting, meetings, proposals, relationship building, and oversee CRM systems and reporting.
* Line-manage a Marketing Executive while overseeing content, media planning, events, and lead generation across digital and offline platforms.


You’ve got around 5–6 years’ experience in business development, marketing, or a commercial role. That might be in an agency, a B2B tech business, or working in a market-facing role in maritime, marine, renewables, or adjacent sectors.


You’re confident enough to lead conversations with senior stakeholders. You’re fluent in industry dialogue or have the desire to get to that level. You’re systematic in how you manage leads and pipelines, but creative when it comes to crafting marketing strategies that connect with real issues in the industry.


Credibility, industry knowledge, and smart questioning will secure your results.


Travel to key industry events and conferences globally is expected.


What you’ll need:


* A commercial mindset with curiosity about what drives client growth and opportunity.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to influence with credibility.
* Acute knowledge and understanding of issues facing the maritime, leisure marine, or renewable energy sectors.
