Role Purpose
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support Nursery and Reception pupils aged 3–5. You will assist teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences while providing targeted support for children with additional needs.
You will play a key role in supporting children with SEN, EAL, or behavioural and social-emotional challenges, helping them engage with activities, develop confidence, and achieve their learning goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with delivery of EYFS curriculum through structured and play-based learning
* Support phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and creative development
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for children with SEN or additional needs
* Encourage positive behaviour, social skills, and independence
* Support daily classroom routines, transitions, snack time, and outdoor learning
* Observe, assess, and record children’s progress in line with EYFS framework
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, external specialists, and parents
* Maintain safeguarding, health, and safety procedures
* Support children’s emotional wellbeing and social development
The Ideal Candidate
