Windsor Farm Shop Assistant
Purpose of the Role
To deliver an outstanding customer experience, ensuring high standards of presentation and food hygiene while supporting the smooth running of daily operations.
Key Accountabilities
Customer Experience
* Provide a warm, friendly welcome to all visitors.
* Serve customers efficiently.
* Respond to customer queries and resolve complaints professionally.
Retail & Stock Management
* Serve customers products at the Delicatessen counter including hams, cheeses, baked pies etc.
* Operate tills accurately and follow all cash-handling procedures.
* Keep the shop floor clean, well-presented, and fully stocked throughout the day.
* Move stock to shop floor as required.
* Rotate stock, ensure accurate pricing, and help minimise wastage.
* Maintain strong product knowledge to support customer enquiries and maximise sales.
Food Hygiene & Safety
* Support kitchen operations, including basic food preparation.
* Uphold high standards of food hygiene and safety at all times.
* Complete required health and safety checklists in accordance with Crown Estate policies.
* Assist with safe and calm evacuations in emergencies.
Facilities Support
* Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, including litter picking, toilet checks, and emptying bins.
* Follow procedures relating to uniform, lost property, and other key operational policies.
Operational Flexibility
* Provide support across all areas of the Farm Shop as required.
* Undertake any additional duties necessary to ensure an excellent visitor experience.

Key Skills and Experience
Essential
* Experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
* Strong communication skills; friendly, confident, and approachable.
* Proven ability to manage customer concerns positively.
* Calm, assertive, and able to work well with a diverse range of people.
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
* Demonstrable ability to deliver high-quality service and products.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently.
* Physically fit as the role involves regular manual handling e.g. lifting, pushing
* Basic IT skills.
* Basic or intermediate food hygiene certificates
Desirable
* Delicatessen experience.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations (training provided).
