The Role
As our Senior Consultant at RSK Wilding, part of the wider RSK Group you will advise on and assist with the work of RSK Wilding and RSK Biocensus as a Responsible Body – assisting with ecological due diligence reviewing of Statutory Metrics, Gain Site Plans, and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans. You will also review and conduct assessment of reports, management plans and monitoring data in terms of quality, outcomes, risks and associated requirements.
Main Responsibilities
* Contribute to overall team and service quality assurance and standards.
* Field survey skills with a focus on UKHab and condition assessments.
* Liaise with team members, wider RSK Biocensus, and clients or 3rd parties such as local planning authorities, habitat banks, landowners, consultants.
* Manage ecological projects, including timely delivery of reports and survey outputs.
* Client liaison.
* Maintain project programmes and manage project budgets.
* Contribute to bids and tenders for new work.
Key Experience & Qualifications
Ideally you will hold at least a degree in a relevant discipline and have at least five years’ specific relevant experience since graduating. Experience in biodiversity net gain, habitat restoration and nature‑based solutions is essential; experience in a field such as agriculture, forestry or environmental landscaping would be an advantage. A strong multi‑disciplinary background with experience of landscape‑scale conservation, rewilding, and species reintroduction and recovery, and delivery and management of UK nature conservation, is very much desirable. A high level of botanical knowledge and surveying experience, including UKHab across a range of habitats, is most welcomed. A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle will be required for this role.
