Senior Consultant (Ecosystem Management) – RSK Group

Be among the first 25 applicants for the Senior Consultant (Ecosystem Management) role at RSK Group.

About RSK Wilding

Established in early 2020, we are a multidisciplinary team supporting innovative and strategic solutions across ecological restoration and nature recovery. We bring together an unrivalled breadth of expertise in biodiversity, restoration, sustainable land management and environmental law.

We are part of the RSK Biocensus business, and we put our expertise to use as part of multi‑disciplinary teams within RSK Group to help a range of clients – from large‑scale developers, public authorities, utilities, to passionate landowners – to offset carbon emissions and achieve biodiversity net gain and other natural capital benefits through ecological restoration and rewilding across the UK. Our aim is to make a real difference in action on the nature and climate crisis, leaving a better legacy for future generations.

The Role

As our Senior Consultant at RSK Wilding, part of the wider RSK Group you will advise on and assist with the work of RSK Wilding and RSK Biocensus as a Responsible Body – assisting with ecological due diligence reviewing of Statutory Metrics, Gain Site Plans, and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans. You will also review and conduct assessment of reports, management plans and monitoring data in terms of quality, outcomes, risks and associated requirements.

Main Responsibilities

* Contribute to overall team and service quality assurance and standards.
* Field survey skills with a focus on UKHab and condition assessments.
* Liaise with team members, wider RSK Biocensus, and clients or 3rd parties such as local planning authorities, habitat banks, landowners, consultants.
* Manage ecological projects, including timely delivery of reports and survey outputs.
* Client liaison.
* Maintain project programmes and manage project budgets.
* Contribute to bids and tenders for new work.

Key Experience & Qualifications

Ideally you will hold at least a degree in a relevant discipline and have at least five years’ specific relevant experience since graduating. Experience in biodiversity net gain, habitat restoration and nature‑based solutions is essential; experience in a field such as agriculture, forestry or environmental landscaping would be an advantage. A strong multi‑disciplinary background with experience of landscape‑scale conservation, rewilding, and species reintroduction and recovery, and delivery and management of UK nature conservation, is very much desirable. A high level of botanical knowledge and surveying experience, including UKHab across a range of habitats, is most welcomed. A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle will be required for this role.

Personal Attributes

* The ability to communicate appropriate ecological information to ecologists and non‑ecologists in a clear, concise and constructive manner.
* Promotes a culture of honesty and equity and leads by example on site.
* Problem‑solving, self‑motivated and can show initiative.
* Strong communication skills.
* Willing to adapt and learn.
* Present solutions, not issues.
* Willing to contribute to the team and “get stuck in”.

Salary & Company Benefits

Along with a competitive salary of between £33,500–£45,000 (depending on experience), you will benefit from a range of company schemes:

* Company life assurance.
* A flexible benefits programme, including the option to buy additional holidays and private health care.
* Regular training and career development (CPD).
* Contributed pension scheme.
* Discounted gym memberships.

Apply today or for any further queries or information regarding the role, and please get in touch with our team.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 4th January 2026 with interviews taking place shortly after.

RSK is an inclusive employer.
