Logistics Manager
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
A highly capable and experienced Logistics Manager is sought to lead logistics operations at a busy site in Tilbury. The role reports directly to the Head of Operations and involves close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to optimise logistics performance and achieve business objectives.
Manage all logistics functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations across the site.
Provide expert leadership and guidance to logistics staff, including the development and coaching of direct reports.
Collaborate closely with the Head of Operations to ensure timely execution of all logistics duties.
Analyse financial data, manage budgets, and identify opportunities to enhance profitability.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and industry-specific requirements.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and deliver ongoing training and support.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Lead procurement activities and coordinate the allocation of materials and resources effectively.
Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding projects and priorities.
Report regularly to senior management, offering insights on operational performance and business efficiency.
In-depth understanding of logistics operations, customer expectations, and business processes.
Strong IT literacy, with TOPS (Transport Operations Processing System) experience being essential.
Analytical and detail-oriented, using facts and data to support decisions.
