GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in Barnsley. Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
Assist in delivering personalised lessons and activities tailored to individual learning needs.
Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development through positive reinforcement.
Help with personal care needs, ensuring student safety and well-being.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor and track student progress.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage student independence.
Requirements:
Experience working with students with special educational needs.
Understanding of the national curriculum and SEN support strategies.
Ability to use creative and engaging teaching methods.
Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
A genuine passion for supporting SEN students.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
