Buyer Birmingham - Full Time
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Buyer to join our Procurement team, supporting the development and execution of category strategies across Business and Soft Services. You\'ll play a key role in sourcing, supplier management, and delivering value through cost-effective, high-quality supply chain solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence strategic procurement decisions, drive innovation, and build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Identify and onboard competitive suppliers to drive value and innovation.
* Deliver cost reduction opportunities aligned with business goals.
* Resolve supplier performance issues and implement continuous improvement plans.
* Develop and execute category strategies that meet evolving business needs.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across departments.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to understand and challenge business requirements.
* Support delivery of annual targets across cost, quality, reliability, and service.
* Implement and maintain supplier management programs for strategic and preferred suppliers.
* Monitor supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Review and enhance current processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
* Good level of procurement experience and buying experience within the FM industry.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills as well as the ability to work creatively and analytically.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Proven experience in stakeholder management and strategy implementation.
* Conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities.
* CIPS qualification preferred but not essential.
* Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience.
