Job Purpose and Summary

Canon UK&I are looking for a Business Development Manager who will drive business growth by developing and expanding distribution and reseller channels for wide-format printing products, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. This role focuses on identifying new market opportunities, building strong partnerships, and implementing pricing models and value chains that enable significant market share growth.

You will also identify, recruit, and manage new distributors and resellers to enhance the company’s reach in the wide-format printing industry. Key responsibilities include analyzing market trends, negotiating agreements, and establishing a competitive pricing strategy. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and technical support to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and customer satisfaction. Success will be measured by achieving distribution channel growth targets and contributing to overall revenue and market share expansion

What we ask

Experience of managing B2B partner and / or distibutor relationships.
* Partner Management including experience with a variety of partner types
* Strong tolerance for ambiguity; ability to focus and execute in a rapidly changing environment, take charge and make things happen. Self-starter, with strong work ethic and personal drive and character qualities that match with company core values and inspires others to follow and act.

* Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to quickly analyse and apply relevant information to make timely and critical decisions that affect cross-functional teams to increase program ROI and effectiveness.

* Understanding of sales, marketing, lead generation processes and key performance indicators.

* Practical experience in supporting the sale and marketing of solutions with Partner Leadership.

* Track record of delivering measurable results, regularly meeting or exceeding targets.

* Strong executive presence & exceptional communication skills (verbal, written).

* Superior ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

Technical Competencies:

1. Printing Knowledge:
o Expertise in printing processes, substrates, inkjet technology, and production workflows.
o Ability to explain technical specifications and value-added services to partners and customers.
2. Sales Strategy Development:
o Proficiency in creating and executing sales plans to drive channel growth.
o Skilled in solution selling, including marketing automation and web-based tools.
3. Market Analysis and Business Acumen:
o Ability to assess market opportunities, identify gaps, and develop targeted strategies for distribution channel expansion.
o Understanding of pricing models (e.g., cost-per-square-foot) and value chains to enable competitive positioning.
4. Technology Integration:
o Familiarity with CRM systems, ERP tools, and sales technology for tracking performance and managing customer relationships.

o Focused on achieving measurable outcomes such as sales targets, market share growth, or distributor performance KPIs.
o Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple accounts or territories.
2. Training and Development:
o Capable of mentoring distributors/resellers on product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry trends to enhance their effectiveness.
