A multi award-winning, family-run independent optical practice in Radlett (just northeast of Watford)
is seeking a qualified Dispensing Optician to join their experienced and friendly team.
Established in 1991, the practice is known for its focus on personalised eyecare and bespoke eyewear.
About the Role
1. Full-time, 5 days per week
2. No Sundays
3. Team includes 12 DOs and 34 Optical Assistants daily
4. 23 clinics per day with 45-minute test times
5. Equipment & Brands
Technology includes:
6. Optomap Silverstone OCT
7. Angiography
8. VR headsets for fields
9. AI-powered Hoya measuring mirror
10. IPL for dry eye
11. Valeda for dry AMD treatment
12. Lenses: Hoya, Essilor, Zeiss, Shamir
13. Frames: Lindberg, Silhouette, Moscot, Maui Jim, Face a Face, Moleskine & Luxottica brands
Key Responsibilities
14. Dispensing a wide range of lenses and frames tailored to individual needs
15. Supporting pre-screening and handover between clinical and dispensing teams
16. Providing expert advice on lenses, frames, and visual solutions
17. Maintaining high standards of patient care and attention to detail
18. Candidate Requirements
19. GOC-registered Dispensing Optician
20. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
21. A passion for independent eyecare and high-quality eyewear
22. Confident in dispensing complex prescriptions and bespoke products
