An exciting oportunity has arisen to work in a high performing integrated level 3 sexual health service (genito-urinary medicine, contraception, HIV treatment and care).
The bSHaW service is delivered from 2 main hubs - Brookside Centre, Aylesbury and Shaw Clinic, Wycombe Hospital with peripheral sites at Amersham, Chesham and Buckingham. The successful candidate will join the team based at Brookside. bSHaW offers a mixture of pre-booked and walk-in and wait clinics predominantly delivered in the morning and afternoon with evening clinics offered on a Monday and Wednesday.
There is an active BASHH and CoRSH acredited training programme for both bSHaW staff and external candiates. We support the training of pre and post graduate nursing and medical colleagues.
Main duties of the job
To practice with support from senior colleagues to deliver a integrated level 3 sexual health service.
To collaborate with nursing, medical and health advising colleagues for the benefit of service users.
To support service improvement projects.

1.EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse/Awaiting NMC PIN
Desirable criteria
2. Evidence of further continued professional development
3. Post qualification experience in relevant specialty
4. Hold / be working towards an NMC approved mentoring qualification
1.EXPERIENCE (both work and ‘life’ related)
Essential criteria
5. Ability to understand the role of a registered nurse
6. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
7. Awareness of current professional nursing issues
8. Demonstrates understanding of the importance of audit/quality
9. Demonstrates willingness to develop knowledge and skills in GUM, Contraception and HIV nursing care
Desirable criteria
10. Post registration experience working in an acute hospital setting
