The Project Controller will be responsible for delivering the Planning and Costing of HVDC Scope of work as part of the overall HVDC Project work.
For a new HVDC project in Europe and the UK, we are looking for a Project Controller who will support the Lead Project Controls to execute the project according to the elaborated strategy and maintain the project on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
* Maintain project cost-to-complete budgets in alignment with the sold position and in coordination with budget holders.
* Support forecast estimation and verify the accuracy of actual-to-date costs (material, labor, manufactured costs, suppliers’ invoices, timesheets, travel expenses).
* Align with the project team and schedule to ensure forecasted cost risks are accurately captured and costs are time-phased.
* Check and control cost movements, compare with current scope, progress, and previous forecasts. Validate estimates against productivity factors.
* Communicate cost status, forecasts, and risks to budget holders and support risk mitigation and cost reduction efforts.
* Present all financial data transparently, attend project and management reviews to report cost status, budget deviations, and root causes.
* Coordinate with Finance Controller to ensure reconciliation between approved project financial data and accounting books.
* Work with planners to ensure costs and schedules are aligned, providing time-phased cost forecasts for sales pacing, and report on cost movement root causes affecting sales targets.
Educational Requirements
Degree qualification in finance or engineering with financial training.
Desired Knowledge & Experience
* Extensive experience in cost controlling of turnkey projects.
* Proven experience leading large and complex infrastructure projects.
* Deep understanding of project finance with expert knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
* Experience managing small teams within large projects.
* Understanding of risk management processes and tools.
* Experience with project planning and good knowledge of P6 planning software is an advantage.
