Vehicle Technician - Basildon
Location: Basildon (SS13 1EY) | Salary: £36,000 – £44,000 per year | Employment: Full‑time
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy and well‑established workshop based in Basildon.
We're looking for a skilled technician with strong all‑round experience who can confidently work across a variety of vehicles, including prestige brands such as Mercedes‑Benz, BMW, Land Rover and VAG.
From in‑depth diagnostics and fault finding through to servicing, repairs and cambelt replacements, this is a varied and hands‑on role within a professional workshop environment.
The Role
* Servicing and repairs on all makes and models
* Advanced diagnostics and fault finding
* Mechanical and electrical repairs
* Cambelt replacements and major repair work
* Working on prestige brands including Mercedes‑Benz, BMW, Land Rover and VAG
* Carrying out work on both cars and vans
* Using diagnostic equipment effectively
* Completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard
* Recording work completed accurately
* Maintaining workshop quality and safety standards
What We’re Looking For
* Level 3 NVQ in Automotive Maintenance & Repair (or above) – essential
* Strong diagnostics and defect repair experience
* Excellent communication skills
* Knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment and vehicle systems
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure
* High attention to detail
* Quality‑focused approach
* Strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
Desirable (but not essential)
* MOT Tester qualification
* Master Technician accreditation
* F‑Gas accredited
* Hybrid / EV training
