Overview
Multi-disciplinary Architectural Practice seeks an experienced Associate level Architect to be the project lead on a £15 million Education Project with additional bids expected to land in early 2025 as part of our client’s new local authority framework award. With around 40 talented professionals across 2 offices in the UK, the opportunity exists to assist in the continuing success and growth of this thriving Practice with a portfolio of exciting projects across multiple sectors. While the client remains committed to a regional studio presence, the Leeds office is currently working remotely while they secure a new studio space and return to a flexible hybrid working model. Suitable candidates must therefore have the facilities to work from home efficiently. It is anticipated the Associate Architect will be the lead Project Architect on the new school project, initially supporting the studio lead as a cross over.
They will work alongside the studio lead on future bids, with the long term desire for the right candidate to lead projects from first contact through to completion. There is also potential for the right candidate to progress to a management role within the business.
Responsibilities
* Act as lead Project Architect on the £15 million education project and support the studio lead on future bids.
* Assist in business development and project delivery, potentially progressing to a management role within the business.
* Support the studio lead with project coordination, staffing, invoicing, and design leadership on key projects.
* Collaborate to secure and deliver bids and projects from conception through to completion.
Qualifications and Experience
* Architects must be RIBA/ARB registered with circa 10 years of professional experience.
* Experience on a new primary or secondary school in the last 5 years is essential.
* Proven design skills through winning bids or delivering schemes from conception to completion, with strong delivery and project management skills.
* Knowledge of different procurement methods and contract types; traditional experience preferred; NEC contracts experience beneficial.
* Excellent presentation skills and technical awareness, with the ability to resolve intricacies through hand sketches and diagrams.
Additional Information
* Investment to support growth of an individual into a key leadership role.
* Flexible working arrangements: 2 days in the office and 3 days remote (initially fully remote with occasional team meetings in Leeds city centre).
* Salary circa £55,000 per annum with benefits including 27 days holiday + Christmas period shutdown, employer pension, private healthcare.
