Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Project Engineer (Fire) on the Hinkley Point C Project and you'll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work. About Hinkley Point C The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan. What you'll be doing As a Project Engineer (Fire), you will; Be the MEH Alliance site wide Fire Risk Assessor Expert. Support perm Installation, temp fire alarm engineers Plan and prepare Fire risk assessment Maintain planning schedule, provide weekly progress on Fire Risk Assessments. Witness test installed alarms & signoff compliance certificate Ensure adequate resources are on site to support alarm system Update and maintain Fire Risk register. Who we're looking for Do you have? Experience in fire risk assessment (both Temp and permanent) Registered with Fire Risk Assessors Register Certification in BAFE and Fire Alarm and Detection (include design, maintenance, installation, and commissioning to meet BS 5839 Good knowledgeable in Fire Safety Order 2023 SMSTS site safety training / CCNSG Safety Passport You must be able to; Achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher) Why work for us Day in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on.
