Following the creation of new roles within the school, we are seeking to appoint Assistant Teachers to work with the young people in our care at Booker Park School. Working as part of a team you will provide support for the class teacher and assist with the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

Salary Type: Bucks pay
Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 4. Actual Salary: £25,679 to £27,568 approx (FTE: £30,361 to £32,594) per annum
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week. 39 weeks per year (Term Time including INSET days)

Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Booker Park School is a primary special school. With 243 pupils on roll, Booker Park caters for primary aged children with a broad diversity of complex needs including profound and multiple, severe and moderate learning difficulties. Almost half of the pupils have an additional diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition. About the role
As an Assistant Teacher the successful candidate will work with the class teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson/work plans as appropriate.
You will assist with the development and implementation of individual education and personal care plans, attending to personal hygiene needs and administering medicines. You will be required to lead whole classes during the teacher’s non-contact time and also during the short-term absence of the teacher.
Comprehensive training is provided as appropriate to the role with a brand new continued professional development programme allowing every staff member opportunities to develop and flourish.

About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have experience of working with young people who have a range of special educational and complex needs either in a special school or similar setting, or maybe through a different job role.
You will be able to liaise with other professionals in order to carry out recommendations required and also work on your own initiative.
A good working knowledge of ICT to be able to effectively support learning and a commitment to training is expected.
Resilience, common sense and a commitment to working as part of a team are also key attributes.
The successful candidate will be required to provide two satisfactory references, undertake preemployment checks including a health check and have a cleared Enhanced Disclosure & Barring check.
