Interim Associate Director of Commercial Operations – UK & Ireland


Location: Fully remote UK & Ireland

Engagement Status: 6 month contract


Overview

We have partnered with a high‑growth oncology biotech and to find someone to support the launch of a novel solid tumours asset across the UK & Ireland. Reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations & Customer Engagement, this role will lead brand strategy, cross‑functional execution, and customer engagement across multiple indications.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead the UK & Ireland Solid Tumours Brand Team through multiple launches
* Develop and execute commercial strategy, brand plans, and tactical programmes
* Drive cross‑functional collaboration across Commercial, Medical, and Analytics
* Partner with Business Analytics on market insights, KPIs, and forecasting
* Deliver omnichannel strategies driven by customer insight and segmentation
* Manage budgets, financial planning, and performance tracking
* Build strong relationships with external KOLs and partners
* Ensure GxP compliance, ethical conduct, and patient‑centric decision‑making
* Represent the company at UK, Ireland, and European meetings and congresses


Hard Skills

* Pharmaceutical commercial operations experience (sales, marketing, analytics, insights, SF effectiveness)
* Proven UK & Ireland product launch experience
* Oncology marketing and/or sales experience (PD‑(L)1 preferred)
* Strong brand strategy, forecasting, and financial planning capability
* Experience delivering omnichannel marketing strategies
* Solid understanding of GxP, compliance, and governance requirements


Soft Skills

* Strong cross‑functional leadership within matrix organisations
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders across commercial, medical, and scientific teams
* Highly customer‑ and patient‑centric mindset
* Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to simplify complex data
* Strategic, agile, and comfortable operating in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments
* Collaborative, proactive, and willing to challenge the status quo


Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree (advanced qualification advantageous)
* 8+ years pharmaceutical commercial/marketing experience
* 3+ years oncology experience (PD‑(L)1 preferred)
* Proven UK & Ireland launch experience
* Strong cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder influence skills
* Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and execution capability
