This is a brand-new 3-bed EBD service based in Enfield, with the first home opening now and a second service already in the pipeline. You'll be joining an organisation at the very beginning of their residential journey, backed by a successful nursery and led by a Responsible Individual/Owner with 10 years of education and SEND experience. You'll have full autonomy to shape the home, build your team, and drive a positive, family-style culture. Clear progression path to RI/Operations Manager as the group expands Sponsorship Available (UK Based Experience Only) About the Organisation & Service Brand-new children's residential provider backed by an established early years setting (nursery business turning 5 this August) Owned and led by a highly experienced former teacher and SEND specialist who is also the Responsible Individual (RI) Strong educational and safeguarding background - 10 years working across Reception to Year 6 and with children with additional needs First home based in Edmonton - a 3 bed EBD setting for young people aged 10-17 Second home already in progress nearby. The vision: warm, nurturing, family-style homes where children feel safe and genuinely cared for not just a service Leadership style is hands-on, proactive, and passionate, the RI/Owner wants managers who take initiative and can lead. Looking to build a tight-knit, child-focused team where everyone supports each other and forms strong bonds with the young people. Big focus on long-term development both for the children and the team The Role: You'll be the Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bed EBD home based in Enfield (Edmonton), supporting children aged 10-17 Full autonomy to shape the service - build your own team, create the culture, and set the standard from day one You'll work closely with the Owner-RI, who is hands-on and supportive but expects you to lead with confidence and independence Flexibility to manage your own schedule - as long as the home runs smoothly and outcomes are delivered, how you structure your week is up to you Expected to be on-call, but more from a responsive/leadership perspective - not constantly needed onsite Huge focus on creating a nurturing, family-style environment where young people feel safe, respected, and valued You'll be part of a wider growth plan - this is the first of multiple homes, and you'll be part of shaping the future The right candidate will be empowered to make decisions, drive improvements, and eventually progress into more senior roles (RI/Operations) Requirements: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (completed or very close to completion) 2 years' experience working in children's residential care, with at least 1 year in a leadership/management post Proven understanding of EBD support, safeguarding, and Ofsted regulations Able to evidence good or better Ofsted outcomes - prior inspections preferred but not essential Leadership style: firm yet approachable, proactive, and comfortable making decisions without constant oversight Strong track record in staff supervision, rota management, recruitment, and driving a positive, child-centred culture Confident communicator, able to engage young people, staff, external professionals, and Ofsted alike Right to work in the UK (sponsorship available if required) Driving licence not essential Open to exceptional Deputy Managers ready to step up, provided you meet the experience criteria above Interested?
