Milk Education are working with a primary school in Walker who are looking for a passionate Learning Support Assistant to support their Year 1 class. This is a full-time supply role that combines general classroom support with additional focus on children who have special educational needs (SEN).
The Role:
Supporting the Year 1 class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils, including those with high needs and additional learning requirements
Assisting with classroom routines, behaviour management, and creating a nurturing learning environment
Helping children with their social, emotional, and academic development
Supporting with the preparation of learning resources and activities
What we’re looking for:
Experience working in primary schools (KS1 experience desirable)
Understanding of SEN support and confidence supporting children with additional needs
A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
