Overview:
The Sun Inn is a family run business & a quintessentially British country pub, with three beautiful fire places, low beamed ceilings and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We are all about fresh ingredients and are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis Chef to join our enthusiastic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in the catering & hospitality industry, food preparation, demonstrating culinary expertise and a commitment to food safety. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the standards we expect. You will be working alongside our Head Chef, to develop and learn new skills & techniques in the kitchen. We want someone with a great work ethic to learn from his leadership to contribute to a positive working environment, ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly.
Duties:
* Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
* Work alongside kitchen staff to ensure food is served to the highest standard but with time management in mind, to ensure timely service consistently.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Assisting the Head chef & kitchen team in the preparation before service begins.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs to management / Head Chef. Also receiving deliveries and making sure everything ordered is there & in a standard we would be happy to receive. Putting everything away correctly.
* Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
* Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and report any issues promptly.
* Comply with all kitchen standards, such as … HEALTH & SAFTEY, COSHH & HACCP. Maintaining our high standard of kitchen cleanliness.
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar role, or some experience within kitchen / hospitality setting is welcomed, full training can be provided.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations would be preferred for best practices in the kitchen. However this can be provided.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
* A passion for cooking and a love for delivering anmazing experiences.

Pay: £22,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
