About the Role
Are you an experienced technical accountant with a passion for getting the detail right and influencing the bigger picture? We are looking for a Group Reporting Manager to join our Group Finance team in Hertfordshire. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the Group’s financial reporting is accurate, timely, and fully compliant with IFRS and UK GAAP.
As our go-to expert in technical accounting, you will lead on complex accounting matters, shape Group policy, and partner across finance and the wider business to deliver high-quality reporting and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Accounting Leadership: Act as the primary technical accounting advisor across the Group, interpreting IFRS and UK GAAP requirements and advising on complex or non-routine transactions.
* Accounting for Complex Transactions: Own the preparation of high-quality technical accounting memos and documentation for internal use and external audit review.
* Policy & Standards: Develop and maintain the Group Accounting Policy Manual, ensuring it reflects current accounting standards and business practices.
* Financial Statement Accuracy: Support the Financial Reporting Manager in preparing accurate and compliant interim and year-end financial statements, including drafting disclosures.
* Audit Engagement: Lead on technical audit queries and liaise closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth year-end process.
* Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex accounting requirements into clear guidance for finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business.
* Standards Implementation: Assess, interpret, and implement new accounting standards, developing guidance and training for relevant teams.
* Continuous Improvement: Support the month-end close and reporting process by driving consistency, quality, and insight across the finance function.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* ACA or ACCA qualified accountant, with 2+ years post-qualified experience
* Strong technical expertise in IFRS (and ideally UK GAAP/FRS 102)
* Experience in a Big 4 firm and/or FTSE-listed business
* Proven ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate technical accounting documentation
