Overview
We’re working with a digital consultancy delivering modern, user-centred technology solutions within theNHS.They’re looking for an experiencedPython Developerwho can help build and maintain scalable applications that directly improve public services.
You’ll join a multidisciplinary team working in an Agile environment collaborating with designers, engineers, and data specialists to create impactful products used by thousands nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, test, and maintainPython-based APIs and back-end services.
* Work closely with front-end developers to integrate applications built inVue.js.
* Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure onAWS, ensuring performance and security best practices.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across NHS or government projects to deliver robust, compliant solutions.
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following GDS and NHS digital standards.
* Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
* Strong experience withPython(Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
* Experience buildingVue.jsfront-ends or similar JavaScript frameworks.
* Proficiency withAWS(Lambda, S3, ECS, CloudFormation, etc.).
* Familiarity withCI/CD pipelinesand automated testing.
* Understanding ofdata security, governance, and accessibilityin public sector contexts.
* Proven experience onNHS or central governmentdigital projects.
Desirable Skills
* Exposure toGDS service design standards.
* Experience withDocker / Kubernetes.
* Knowledge ofTerraformor other IaC tools.
* Background working inAgile / Scrumenvironments.
* Previous experience withAPI integrationsordata pipelinesin healthcare or government settings.
