Duties of the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping prospective students discover and connect with the University. As part of the UK Recruitment team, they will support a wide range of activities across schools’ engagement, conversion, and major on-campus events such as Open Days and Insight Days. This includes representing the University at higher education exhibitions across the UK and delivering engaging presentations and workshops.
The Student Recruitment and Marketing Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the logistics of recruitment activity, such as organising on-campus school visits and managing enquiries from key stakeholders.
The role involves regular UK travel, as well as some evening and weekend work. For this reason, the post‑holder must hold a full UK‑valid driving licence.

Skills and qualifications required
We are seeking a recent graduate of the University of Essex, having completed studies in the last 3 years, thus holding an honours degree, as well as an interest in and knowledge of the higher education sector.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in public speaking. They will be motivated and proactive, with an ability to work flexibly on their own initiative and meet deadlines. This role requires both team and independent working, and therefore the successful candidate will demonstrate autonomy, strong organisation and interpersonal skills. To fulfil the marketing elements of this role, a high standard of written English, accuracy and eye for detail are required.
