Buyer / Production Planner
Location: Ellesmere, Shropshire
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on skills an abilities)

An established metal fabrication and engineering business in Ellesmere is seeking a skilled Buyer / Production Planner to join their operations team. This role combines procurement and production planning responsibilities, ensuring materials and resources are available to support smooth, efficient manufacturing processes.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning production schedules, coordinating procurement of materials and spare parts, and ensuring that manufacturing operations run without disruption. You will act as a key point of contact between suppliers and the production team, providing regular updates and proactively identifying potential issues.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and schedule production to meet operational demands
Source and procure raw materials and spare parts from suppliers
Monitor production progress and report issues to management
Ensure that special projects or unusual production runs have all materials in place to prevent delays
Review and evaluate materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain production efficiency
Candidate Requirements
Experience in a procurement, production planning, or similar operations role
Background in manufacturing, engineering, or metal fabrication preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent software
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to commute to Ellesmere
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Working hours: Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:00, Friday 08:30 - 14:00 (37 hours per week)
