Overview
We are looking for a Highly Specialist / Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Red Moor School, Lanlivery PL30 5BT. This permanent role (term-time only, or flexible around a full-time contract) offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overlap to core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered. Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience). Basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+.
Location: Red Moor School, Lanlivery PL30 5BT – Red Moor School forms part of our Acorn Education brand, an independent specialist day school serving pupils aged 5-18.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils within an education setting.
* Work collaboratively with the education team and follow the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working to guide practice and responsibilities.
* Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Provide person-centred, holistic support to pupils, including involvement in safeguarding and multidisciplinary activity.
* Support development of the wider speech and language therapy offer, including supervision, research involvement, and participation in CPD activities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree.
* Valid HCPC Registration.
* Registered member of RCSLT.
* At least 5+ years practicing experience at the specialist level with the target client group in a similar setting.
* Strong knowledge and clinical understanding underpinned by theory and practice.
* Experience in multidisciplinary working across settings, with some responsibility for service and team performance.
* Experience in communicating with and working with families, carers, and relatives.
* Experience in developing training and conveying information in person.
* Experience in professional and clinical supervision.
* Experience in participating in research projects and conducting audits.
* Exceptional relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills; excellent oral and written communication; strong time management and organisational skills.
* Advanced knowledge of SaLT practice areas and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Advanced knowledge of approaches relating to neurodivergence, cognitive differences/difficulties and trauma-informed practice.
