What will you be doing?
About the role We arrange a small number of events of varying sizes each year, and have the opportunity to do more. Events serve to Explain our mission and vision, and how the SWR is making a difference for refugees resettling in Sevenoaks District Recruit volunteers to support our initiatives Raise funds to sustain and grow our operations Build partnerships with local organisations. SWR events have included, for example, a fun day and concert at the Stag, Sevenoaks, participation in a local Dragon Board Race and holding stalls at Christmas Fares and other community events at schools, churches and local businesses. Key Responsibilities Lead event planning & execution Oversee at least one major event per year (e.g., our annual fundraising concert in April) and coordinate smaller events such as fairs, talks, and community walks. Event strategy & research Identify event opportunities that align with SWR's mission and audience. Logistics & coordination Book venues, schedule speakers/performers, liaise with vendors, and manage event setup and operations. Volunteer coordination Work with Trustees and the Volunteer Leadership Team to recruit and organise event volunteers. Promotion & communications Collaborate with the Communications Team to create event materials and promotional content. Budget & compliance Track event costs, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and keep financials within budget. Post-event evaluation Gather feedback and compile post-event reports to improve future events.
