Security Incident & Vetting Manager Location - Any UK Site (Hybrid) Are you looking to build your career as a security professional? Then look no further The role You will be accountable for the day-to-day management of the security incident and vetting processes for Thales UK. As the Incident and Vetting Manager, you are responsible for managing and overseeing incident response and security vetting processes within the organization. This role involves ensuring that all security incidents are effectively managed and resolved while maintaining robust vetting procedures to ensure compliance with security regulations and standards. Key tasks Managing efficient and effective day-to-day co-ordination and execution of the incident response team, ensuring that all security incidents are promptly investigated and resolved. Coordinate with relevant teams, including HR/ER/CSOC/Legal/Procurement, to ensure timely resolution and mitigation of threats. Exceptional Stakeholder Management. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and senior management, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration on security and vetting matters. Implementing policies and processes in accordance with corporate governance in relation to security as defined in Chorus referential system Develop, implement, and maintain incident response plans, policies, and procedures. Conduct detailed investigations of security incidents and breaches to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. Including identifying trends to feed into security culture output. Prepare and present detailed reports on incidents, investigations, and vetting outcomes to Head of Security Services and Chief Security Officer and other key stakeholders. Develop and deliver training to team and colleagues to enhance incident and investigation capabilities across the team, utilizing Site Security Managers and Deputies for investigations. Oversee the security vetting process for employees, contractors, and third-party vendors to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain vetting policies and procedures in line with industry standards and best practices. Manage the maintenance of accurate and confidential records for all vetting activities. Conduct periodic reviews and audits of vetting processes to ensure effectiveness and compliance. Provide training and awareness programs on incident response and vetting procedures to staff and stakeholders. Prepare and present weekly reports to senior management on the status of incident response activities and vetting processes. Skills & Experience Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Experience in incident response management and security vetting within the defence industry or a related sector. Strong knowledge of security incident response protocols, standards, and best practices. In-depth understanding of security vetting procedures and regulatory requirements. Proven experience in managing and leading teams in a high-pressure environment. Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and agencies.
