Job description
The role involves supporting people experiencing mental distress providing a welcoming, safe and compassionate environment. Breathing Space offers a supportive environment for people as an alternative for A&E. Operational hours are 5pm-11pm Mondays to Sundays. Volunteers will work on a rota basis to support people to devise safety plans, work on coping techniques, identify personal goals and connect people to resources in their local area.
How Volunteers Support our Service
As an Wellbeing Support Volunteer, you will support clients on a one-to-one basis, this includes support with their mental wellbeing and signposting clients to other services within the community enabling them to take charge of their wellbeing, promoting independence and equipping them with the information they need in order to get the support they require.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working and supporting vulnerable people with mental health issues.
The role is best suited for someone who is compassionate, enjoy working with others, can learn in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with professionals, clients and the general public.
