Independent Medical Practitioner Elderly Care

Applications are invited from registered medical practitioners with a special interest in Elderly Care to work in a 12-month fixed-term post as an Independent Medical Practitioner (GP) with expanded scope. The appointment is for 2 days at Trust consultant level, based within the Community Hospitals in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
This post is a key part of the older persons in-patient service. You will provide specialist geriatric medical input into the care of older people in the community hospital setting, working with advanced nurse practitioners and multidisciplinary teams. This role supports our geriatric service development, managing the complexities of older patients at the interface of acute, emergency, and community services.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)
* Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
* Maintain responsibility for patient care and ward functioning.
* Liaise with GPs, hospital and community specialists, and other agencies.
* Undertake administrative duties related to patient care and service management, including workload prioritization.
