An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Psychological Therapies Service (PTS) in South Glos. The post holder will support the delivery of a range of complex psychological therapies offered across the PTS. We welcome applicants interested in working with complex C-PTSD to address gaps in therapy provision for this presentation.
The post holder will provide complex psychological assessment, formulations, and interventions to service users and their systems. The role includes engaging in consultation, training, and staff support to meet the needs of community teams interfacing with the PTS. Additionally, part of the role will focus on developing neuropsychological assessments and adjustments for adults with cognitive difficulties. We are committed to addressing structural inequities and value diversity in all its forms.
Opportunities for training and CPD will support the successful candidate in expanding competencies in psychological therapies. BABCP accreditation would be advantageous.
The post requires working on Tuesdays and Fridays to meet the service’s multifaceted needs.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide assessments, formulations, interventions, and evaluations of psychological interventions for service users, families, and carers within secondary care.
2. Deliver individual, group, and family psychological therapies in collaboration with other clinicians within PTS and local MDTs.
3. Offer consultation, supervision, teaching, and training to MDT colleagues.
4. Conduct neuropsychological assessments and rehabilitation for adult service users in secondary care.
5. Support service development and innovative practices within PTS and local services.
6. Deliver complex trauma and C-PTSD psychological interventions at both individual and group levels to address unmet needs.
7. Supervise CAPS, Assistant Psychologists, and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners in delivering the Your Team Your Conversation Your Plan intervention program within the locality.
