Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or HLTA looking for a rewarding new challenge? Do you have a passion for supporting children withplex needs in a nurturing and structured environment? Hays Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in South Manchester to recruit a dedicated SEN HLTA to start in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive teammitted to transforming the lives of children who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
Your New Role
1. Support pupils aged 5–11 with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and additional learning difficulties.
2. Deliver tailored interventions and small group sessions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
3. Assist with planning and delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities.
4. Help manage behaviour positively and consistently, using de-escalation strategies.
5. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
What You'll Need to Succeed
6. HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar SEN support role.
7. Proven experience working with children with challenging behaviour or in a PRU/alternative provision setting.
8. Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, resilient approach.
9. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and helping them thrive.
