You must be able to organise and prioritise your own workload to meet the demands of the role. Have the ability to function and communicate effectively as part of a team, the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving and identifying situations requiring further advice.
Hospital Site – Royal Derby Hospital
Responsibilities
* Provide support and signposting to HPB cancer patients and their relatives in person and by telephone.
* Support the CNS team with administrative duties such as triaging phone calls, referring to the most appropriate service or CNS, booking appointments, and completing referrals if required; email administration and communicating with partner NHS Trusts to ensure a smooth, efficient pathway for patients referred to tertiary services.
* Offer and complete Holistic Needs Assessments with patients either face‑to‑face or over the telephone, signpost for support where required, and follow up on actions not requiring CNS support.
* Attend MDTs with the CNS and assist in managing the workload generated by this.
* Work with the multidisciplinary team, referring to outside agencies as appropriate and advising patients on local service support.
* Work alongside the CNS team to deliver local cancer support groups, including providing administrative support.
