Job summary
Our service user is a cheerful young boy in his early teens who lives with his family in Bury. He has highly complex care needs and requires a care team to support him 24/7 on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis.
He has a brilliant sense of humour, he is very cheeky and loves the interaction from his care team, family, and friends.
On weekdays he attends school, and his care team will accompany him and support him with all his clinical needs whilst also supporting any social activities he may attend.
When at home he enjoys watching TV, playing games on his iPad, being out in the community and generally having lots of fun. Weekends he enjoys spending time participating in various activities, some of his favourites include attending the park, and going to the cinema.
It is important to understand his methods of communication and identify his wants and needs, he is non-verbal and communicates using Makaton and facial expressions. Patience and understanding area key qualities for this role.
Our Ideal candidate will demonstrate confidence in handling complex and challenging situations with composure and empathy, as at times his care needs can become quite intense.
We provide an in-depth training programme for all his clinical needs which is led by our highly skilled Registered Nurses.
We are also currently paying a welcome bonus of £150 for this position.

Main duties of the job
Throughout the night you will be supporting with all aspects of his routine including, observing, and monitoring him whilst he sleeps, ensuring his wellbeing and clinical interventions are always managed appropriately, supporting with his personal care and repositioning
Your hourly rate will start at £ per hour (Days) with set increases based on successful completion of the training programme See breakdown below.
It is essential that applicants have experience of complex care and have experience of working with children and young people for this position.
Shifts Available
Full Time Nights - minimum 3 shifts per week
1. 7:45pm 8:00am
2. The requirement to work 2 Weekends per month for this position is essential.

Job responsibilities
The role of a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is to work without direct supervision in the home of the service user providing care and support including personal, social, and domestic support whilst adhering to the service users individual care and support plan.
The aim of the position is to enable service users to remain safely in their own home with as much independence as possible.
Alongside providing care and support in a professional, discreet, and caring manner, always ensuring the service users right to privacy and dignity is maintained
