Job Title: Shift Lead (Electrically Biased) Location: Watford Salary: £51,000 – £55,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) Shift Pattern: Continental Shift – 4 days on, 6 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off, 6 days on (3 days/3 nights). Minimum of 2 weekends off per month. About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and electrically biased Shift Lead to join our team at the CapitaLand Data Centre in Watford. This is a hands-on, client-facing role suited to a professional with strong technical capabilities and a solid background in critical environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee daily operations within the data centre environment Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems Ensure the site remains compliant with all relevant health and safety standards Respond to and resolve technical issues and emergency situations Supervise and support on-site engineers and contractors Participate in and support HV switching operations (training available if not already qualified) Support the Account Manager with reporting and technical documentationRequirements: Essential: Proven experience in a data centre or other critical environment Electrically biased with relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Strong knowledge of building services and systems (UPS, HVAC, fire suppression, generators) Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure Desirable: High Voltage (HV) qualification (preferred but not essential – training will be provided post-probation) Previous team leadership or supervisory experienceBenefits: Competitive salary with shift allowance included Generous overtime rates: x1.5 standard, x2 on Sundays and Bank Holidays No call-out requirement Supportive working environment with opportunities for upskilling (including HV training) Structured interview process with a technical focus to ensure the right fitInterview Process: 1st Stage: Microsoft Teams interview – introduction and initial technical questions 2nd Stage: In-person technical interview – in-depth technical scenarios and discussionIf you’re ready to take the next step in your data centre career and thrive in a critical, high-performing environment, we’d love to hear from you
