Overview
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant in our Lower School from January 2026. This is a permanent, 40 hour per week role, term-time only plus 7 INSET days.
This is a role within Rokeby School, a highly successful independent Surrey prep school, set on a private estate near Kingston with close access to Richmond Park and the River Thames, and within commuting distance to central London. You will work alongside the Classroom Teacher, enhance learning, undertake learning activities, supervise pupils, and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Classroom Teacher to support learning for Year 2 pupils in Key Stage 1
* Prepare display materials and teaching aids
* Supervise pupils outside of the classroom (playgrounds, dining areas, and on visits)
* Assist with pupil data management and undertake other relevant duties
* Support wrap-around care and contribute to building pupils’ confidence and life skills
Qualifications and Attributes
* Experience of working with Key Stage 1 pupils
* Caring and supportive approach with a positive and inspiring disposition
* Willingness to contribute to CPD and staff development
Employment Details
* Salary: full-time, full-year equivalent from £29,000 per annum; actual salary range £22,945 to £28,500 depending on experience
* Contract: term-time only plus 7 INSET days
