Hospital Accountant | Finance & Commercial | Part Time – 22.5hrs | Permanent | Elland
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Hospital Accountant to join our Finance team on a part time (22.5hrs per week), permanent basis.
As Management Accountant you will be responsible to support the Finance Director with the preparation, delivery and analysis of key financial information enabling the hospital leadership team to make well informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability.

Our hospital has a full multi-disciplinary medical team on-site who practice some of the most advanced treatments on the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, general surgery, gynaecology, and cosmetic procedures.
Duties and responsibilities
1. To support the Financial and Commercial Manager (FaCM) with the preparation, delivery and analysis of key financial and statistical information which will enable the hospital leadership team to make well informed decisions that ensure future stability, growth and profitability.
2. To proactively monitor and influence the effectiveness of stock and administrative processes within the hospital in order to ensure an accurate reflection of the monthly financial position.
3. To support the FaCM with the preparation of business forecasts.
4. To provide a Finance Business Partner service to the Theatre Manager, Ward Manager, Radiology Manager, Maintenance Manager and other operational departments.
Who we're looking for
5. Excellent numeracy and accuracy skills
6. AAT Qualified or equivalent
7. Intermediate Excel skill is essential, for example, competent with pivot tables, VLookups, and IF functions with the ability to design appropriately formatted tables, reports and charts
8. Strong administrative skills with a keen eye for detail
9. Confident telephone manner with the ability to communicate with a wide range of customers at all levels
10. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally
