Overview

Head of Safeguarding and Ageing Well

Salary - £73,604 - £78,051 (Grade 11)

Contract type - 11 month fixed term contract - Full Time.

We are seeking a Head of Safeguarding and Ageing Well (Maternity Cover) to take on a critical leadership role within our Safeguarding and Ageing Well services in the City of Wolverhampton.

In this role, you will drive the strategic and operational development of safeguarding and ageing well services, ensuring they are compliant, person-centred, and of the highest quality. You will work closely with internal and external partners to innovate, transform, and align services with local and national priorities, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

* Lead the strategic and operational development of Safeguarding and Ageing Well services, ensuring the highest standards of provision.
* Determine the strategic direction of the service, anticipating changes, and evaluating risks and opportunities in partnership with health.
* Foster a high-performance culture within the service, ensuring efficiencies, continuous improvement, and value for money in budget management.
* Provide leadership to the workforce, ensuring effective deployment, support, training, and qualification for health and social care priorities.
* Develop and implement service plans, ensuring quality services meet local and national targets, statutory compliance, and continuous engagement with stakeholders.
* Maintain effective working relationships with all partners, ensuring seamless joint working and comprehensive quality assurance systems.
* Be an integral member of the Adult Leadership Team.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for touch down space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
