Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an Emergency Department Receptionist to join the Emergency Care Directorate’s Administration Team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The role involves providing efficient reception and administrative support to the clinical team within the busy Emergency Department.
Main Duties
Provide an efficient reception and administration service to the ED department while working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. Promptly and efficiently exercise own judgement to resolve patient queries within professional constraints. Maintain strict confidentiality and deal with staff, patients, carers and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.

Qualifications
* English and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent experience (Essential).
* NVQ level 3 Customer Care or equivalent qualification or experience, or AMSPAR Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception (Desirable).
Experience
* Previous clerical/office/reception experience (Essential).
* Customer Service experience (Essential).
* Previous NHS experience (Desirable).
Skills
* Essential Welsh speaking (level 3 or higher).
* IT Computer literacy (Essential).
* Effective communication skills (Essential).
* Able to communicate information clearly and sensitively in person and over the phone (Desirable).
* General experience of admin functions (Desirable).
Personal Qualities
* Team Player (Essential).
* Work on own initiative (Essential).
* Ability to motivate others (Desirable).
* Ability to organise work within the department (Desirable).
Knowledge
* Data protection and confidentiality (Essential).
* Meets all desirable criteria as per attached job description/person specification (Desirable).
Requirements
* Welsh speaking level 3 or higher.
* Experience working within an Emergency Department.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to handle confidential information.
* Flexibility and a pleasant personality.
* Previous exposure to the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS) and Symphony is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Overtime is available.
