Job Description
This job is workstyle 1 - Fixed.
Most of your time will be spent delivering front-line services. Depending on your role, you may need to access a specific council location during the week if not delivering services at a council site.
Angus Council operates the following early learning and childcare (ELC) models:
1. ELC Model 1: Children's funded entitlement is 190 days at 6 hours per day.
2. ELC Model 2: Children's funded entitlement is 152 days at 7.5 hours per day.
3. ELC Model 3: Children's funded entitlement is 228 days at 5 hours per day.
Models 1 and 2 operate over term-time, while Model 3 settings are open longer, only closed for two weeks over Christmas/New Year, three weeks in July/August, plus public holidays and in-service days, totaling 46.6 weeks per year. Staff in these settings can plan their annual leave accordingly and may apply for additional time off while the setting is open.
You will work across two ELCCs: Abbey View ELCC (Model 1) and Arbroath and Monifieth ELCCs (Model 3). Your base will be Abbey View ELCC, Arbroath.
Working 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday, with a total of 251 working days per year, based on a 261-day year with 10 unpaid days off.
Your salary and entitlement are included within the salary scale.
You will provide management and support for children and staff, ensuring a high-quality, flexible, and accessible early learning and childcare service in line with policies, procedures, and guidance.
Membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or a commitment to gain registration is essential.
A full, current driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
