Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Principal FM Consultant for our Asset Optimisation practice who will work with public and private sector clients to align property portfolios with organisational objectives, turning property from a cost into a strategic enabler. This senior consultancy role offers long‑term career development, structured support and opportunities to lead high‑impact programmes.
Key Accountabilities
Deliver consultancy services across a broad client base, including public sector bodies (central government, local authorities, defence, education and health), partnerships and providers (SPVs, lenders/funders, service providers and contractors) and private sector organisations such as financial institutions and banks, conglomerates and consumer goods firms, housing, automotive, pharmaceuticals and infrastructure.
Lead and manage Asset Optimisation assignments across PFI advisory (including handback), property asset management and portfolio strategy, FM strategic advisory (life‑cycle and backlog modelling), TOTEX optimisation and whole‑life costing, benchmarking and value‑for‑money reviews, and compliance, audits and governance, while championing digital innovation and sustainability‑led asset strategies.
Oversee strategic reviews, target operating model design and supply chain/procurement support.
Drive data analytics, cost estimation, feasibility studies and cost plans.
Provide contract support and reviews (including PFIs).
Build and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development and thought leadership.
Mentor junior team members and uphold quality, governance and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in property‑focused consultancy or equivalent.
Proven track record with public sector clients (health, education, local authorities) and private sector organisations.
Degree‑qualified property professional or full membership of IWFM, RICS or another relevant professional body.
Demonstrated success leading multi‑disciplinary teams and delivering major programmes or portfolios.
