UECS – Essex Sport
Essex Sport are currently seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Receptionist. You will be responsible for ensuring our members and guests receive a warm and friendly welcome and any queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner.
Essex Sport provides a full range of sporting and physical activity facilities, classes and activities for students and staff at the University of Essex, as well as to the wider local community. Recent investments in facilities include the new £12M Essex Sport Arena, a new covered 4-court tennis facility, a recent refurbishment of the Essex Sport Gym with new Technogym equipment, and the addition of virtual classes to our fitness studios.
Passionate about providing excellent customer service, you will be required to ensure the smooth running of Reception and provide a quality front of house service that meets the needs and expectations of our members and guests. As the face of Essex Sport, you will be the first point of call for information on everything Essex Sport has to offer, as well promoting and selling of memberships, facilities, courses and events.
Duties of the Role
Your job tasks will fall under, but not be limited to, several key areas:
1. Build a good rapport and relationship with all members and guests.
2. Responding to customer enquiries with good sales and negotiation skills with an ability to up-sell.
3. Keep up to date with current promotions and pricing, to provide information to visitors and prospective members face to face, over the telephone and via email.
4. Short term booking of all facilities, adhering to facility rules and regulations.
5. To actively promote Essex Sport memberships, fitness classes, facilities, courses and events.
6. Housekeeping of records on Gladstone system, maintaining and updating the membership database system and other general administrative duties.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidates will have evidence, or qualifications, of working with Microsoft packages and will have experience of previous work in a reception environment. Although not essential, it is desirable to have experience of using a Leisure Management system.
It is essential that you have excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a multitude of tasks and the ability to be flexible to cover shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
