Cantonian High School is an English medium mixed 11–18 comprehensive school with a sixth form. We are a rapidly growing school with high aspirations and expectations for all, providing consistently high quality learning experiences for our pupils. Recently, we moved into a brand new, state of the art school building, offering excellent facilities, expertise and opportunities for both our pupils and the wider community.
We are a child centred school committed to ensuring that all young people, from our most vulnerable to our most able and talented learners, achieve their potential. Central to this commitment is the effective use of data, assessment and reporting to inform teaching, track progress and secure strong outcomes. We recognise that learning is more than academic achievement alone and must support the development of the whole child, within a happy, safe and respectful community where learning is valued.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our forward thinking Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility for whole school data, assessment, reporting and examinations. This role will have a direct and measurable impact on raising standards by ensuring systems are robust, accurate and used effectively to drive school improvement. The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight of assessment and reporting arrangements, lead examination processes, and support leaders and staff in using data meaningfully to inform teaching, intervention and evaluation.
In addition, the postholder will oversee the school’s vocational qualifications offer, including the introduction of new vocational pathways and the quality assurance of existing BTEC programmes. Acting as Quality Nominee, they will ensure compliance with awarding body requirements, maintain high standards across vocational provision, and support curriculum leaders to deliver qualifications that meet both regulatory expectations and the needs of our pupils.
The appointed person will bring passion, drive, energy and strong analytical expertise, working closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers to support the next stage of the school’s development. They will be an effective communicator and collaborator, able to lead change, ensure compliance, and place pupils’ outcomes and wellbeing at the centre of strategic decision making.
We offer excellent CPD opportunities to support the successful candidate in this role and in their future ambition to secure a Headship within the next few years.
