Contract Opportunity: Banking Solution Architect/Project Architect
Location: Knutsford or Northampton - Hybrid 2-3 days onsite
Contract Length: Until 31st December 2025
Day Rate: £480 p/d (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Must be eligible for BPSS
The Opportunity: We’re seeking a Banking Solution Architect to join a leading financial institution, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the client's core banking and current account services. This is your chance to influence high-impact programs across loans, savings, account switching, and payments, ensuring systems are scalable, resilient, secure, and compliant.
What You’ll Do
* Lead architecture design across core banking solutions, covering loans, savings/current accounts, switching, and payments.
* Collaborate with stakeholders including project managers, product owners, and analysts to align solutions with business and risk requirements.
* Own architectural governance – producing design artefacts for privacy, records management, and regulatory compliance.
* Advise and guide product & business teams, championing innovation and technical excellence.
* Evaluate and integrate vendor products, supporting strategy, automation, and reducing manual intervention.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven expertise in core banking & current account journeys, particularly switching and payments.
* Strong understanding of architecture paradigms: cloud, APIs, DevOps, and security.
* Experience with governance and regulatory requirements in financial services.
* Proficiency with tools like Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Tableau, and Confluence.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and deliver at scale.
