Overview
Assistant Editor (PhD holder) - Catalysts at MDPI. This is a full-time, permanent in-office role based in the city centre office in Manchester, UK. The position involves staying connected to scientific research by helping researchers publish their latest results.
Responsibilities
* Support the editorial process for academic research journals in your domain of expertise
* Organize the peer review process for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions
* Handle email communication between parties involved in the publication process
* Collaborate with other members of the editorial and production teams
* Ensure scholarly articles are edited and published with high quality and under tight deadlines
Requirements
* PhD degree in a subject adjacent to catalysts (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Industrial Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry)
* Excellent written and spoken English skills
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Team player able to work in a dynamic, international environment
* Detail oriented with the ability to see the big picture
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Good communication and coordination skills
