Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist housing advice to residents at risk of homelessness.
* Assess homelessness applications in line with Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996, as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2018.
* Progress cases through Prevention and Relief Duty, supporting residents to secure and maintain accommodation.
* Issue Section 184 decisions and develop meaningful Personal Housing Plans (PHPs).
* Provide advice on security of tenure, welfare benefits, and homelessness prevention strategies.
* Work closely with internal teams and external partner agencies to achieve positive housing outcomes.
* Assess and support applicants experiencing domestic abuse in line with the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
* Maintain accurate case notes and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing law.
* Experience issuing S184 decisions and creating Personal Housing Plans.
* Excellent communication, case management, and customer service skills.
