Community Phlebotomist
Part time locum – Ellesmere Port – 2 months initially within the Ellesmere Port community team. The role is from Wednesday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
Your role will be to obtain blood samples from patients in the community in accordance with local policies and procedures. You will provide a safe blood collection service to patients in their own homes in accordance with infection control and governance guidelines, adhering to lone worker policy.
Responsibilities include:
* Obtain venous or capillary blood samples from patients in accordance with trust guidelines in patients’ own homes.
* Label and/or bar code specimen bottles accurately, then place samples into appropriately labelled bottles and package for transport to the relevant laboratory.
* Conduct the procedure with proper regard to patient confidentiality and awareness of patient’s individual needs.
* Record appropriate information in identified documentation in accordance with local procedures and Trust requirements.
Requirements:
* Community Phlebotomist experience.
* Certificate of competency for Venepuncture.
* Own vehicle and driving licence.
* Proof of immunisations.
* References to cover last 3 years.
