Job Title: Junior Design Product Developer Status: Cover for Maternity Leave, 12-month fixed term contract Employment Type: Full-time, On-site Location: Buckinghamshire Job Summary: A design led manufacturer, specialising in the Furniture Industry with a Premium brand is seeking a Junior Design Product Developer as maternity cover to work at Princes Risborough on fabric, upholstery and NPI project managing within the design department. Reporting to the Creative Director the role will involve overseeing the fabric sector & upholstery development within the Design team for UK Upholstery. Key Responsibilities: · Work closely with the Creative Director to administer the new Accent fabric swatch AW 2026. This is a new swatch that will need to be developed into production working with key fabric suppliers, outside manufacturers and our inhouse factory. · Helping to develop the fabric newness for 2027 and beyond. · Working closely with fabric suppliers requesting fabric information, ensuring swatches are received when needed. · Maintaining all the fabric information in a shared spreadsheet for sales and production. · Organisation of the fabrics, fabric archive, managing files and images. · Creation of swatch packs for design, development and sales. · Liaise with suppliers on design queries, relating to fabrics and upholstery products in development. · Collating and managing fabric swatch boards for ranges across all supply channels along with ensuring fabric boards and charts are up to date. · Liaising closely with the Supply Chain, sales and marketing teams with regards to suppliers, issues and availability, focusing on stock implications and fabric costs, quality standards, price and delivery times. · Working closely with the upholstery suppliers and partners, maintaining a good knowledge of suppliers within the company network to work on all the ranges, along with conducting research and assisting with the creation of mood boards. · Working closely with the Creative Director on project managing the New Product Introductions within the factory and, alongside the Outsourcing Manager, with external upholstery suppliers. · Using Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator to produce Assembly Instruction documents for all new products launched within the year. · Creating fabric codes and communicating fabric introductions and deletions internally. · Managing and refreshing the showroom layout ahead of launches in Spring 2026. Qualifications & Experience would ideally include: A creative degree in furniture, textiles or product is essential and a good knowledge of Creative suite is desired. Experience within the furnishing industry is key to this role. Previous experience within upholstery or fabrics would be beneficial in a design led company. Excellent communication skills, the ability to travel and see suppliers is part of the role. Strong organisational skills and a professional approach to your work is essential.
